“I’m not against the pipeline, I just worry about how it’ll be built, because knowing our mentality the quality won’t be up to standard.”

“I’m so afraid to drive on these new motorways, who knows how they made them and whether the quality is what it should be!”

“We want to buy an apartment, but we’re afraid that they may have cut corners and sacrificed on quality.”

I’ve been hearing these kinds of comments more frequently over the last few years, mostly connected to the quality of the workmanship on all sorts of things. People no longer believe that anything of quality can be made in our part of the world, and so even those who produce quality things are regarded with suspicion!

Frankly speaking, I don’t believe in the concept (at least not lately) that the customer is always right, but here we’re talking about something more alarming — a lack of faith in the quality of workmanship on all levels and all kinds of products! There’ll always be people out there that don’t do things properly, that’s just something we can’t change, but the lack of faith in even the possibility of quality-made products is far too high and must be reduced as a matter of urgency!!!

The current situation doesn’t bode well and the potential implications could be very big indeed. That’s because it influences:

- Trust — as the quality of your product/service decreases, so does the trust in you, your business and everything connected to you. All of that could have a huge impact on your profit/revenue, so think twice!

- Your reputation — low quality work reflects badly on you as a person, regardless of whether you work for a public institution or in the private sector. When people find out your work is not up to scratch, your entire life will be affected!

- Income — low quality, bad reputation, lower earnings, bankruptcy!

- Your future — all of the above will have an impact on your future and the future of your nearest and dearest.

The work that you deliver speaks volumes about you. If you want others to think badly of you, which would negatively affect both your life and the lives of your family, then carry on as you are. But if you want the polar opposite, then you need to immediately get out of the bell jar in which you live and make a change. Improve the quality of your life by improving the quality of the things/services you offer!

Wishing you success with the changes to come,
