TOW#620 — Nice days

Tip of the week
3 min readNov 19, 2021

A week ago, I heard a very nice thing (in theory) which goes: from every negative, try to extract something positive/beautiful. I immediately started thinking about it, then consulted with friends about how they do it, checked Google, and so on.

You can make a day nice by yourself, or somebody else can make it for you.

The same goes with bad days — you can make it so, but it can also be done for you.

We’re experts at making our or someone else’s day a bad one, so let’s talk about how you can make your day beautiful by yourself or with the help of someone else.

Let me say right away, we’re living in a turbulent and unpredictable period of our lives, surrounded by many unknowns, and consequently the number of bad days is greater than the number of good ones. Therefore:

- The day starts before the night — meaning, make a plan for the next day or use the morning to plan the day! Also, make a plan for the whole week at the beginning of the week. You have to plan your own week, not let someone else have the biggest impact on it!

- The day starts with the morning — don’t let yourself get annoyed by various irritants, nuisances or who knows what else, on the way to work. Someone blocked your parking space, drove through a red light, almost crashed into you, etc… it is what is it, get past it. Work anecdote: a colleague was suddenly sprayed from head to toe the other day, and sent us a message that she was going home to change. The first thing I thought was that she’d be furious for the rest of the day, but she came to work smiling!! We laughed about the incident all day. ☺

- Priority of obligations — not every obligation has the same priority and not every priority is a priority. First, complete your work responsibilities, and if you have time, sort out your private ones. After work, first the private ones, then, if there’s time, your official duties. And you should know, and I’ve written it a million times: a person can carry out a maximum of 5 tasks PROPERLY during the day!

- Every day something new — a new path/road to take, a new notebook to write in, new flowers, new clothes (look your best), new celebration, new…

- Cut back on unproductive things — you do a lot of unproductive things that are pulling you down and delaying you from fulfilling other responsibilities. Start removing them one by one. Some people won’t like it, but that’s how it goes!

- Pleasant people — both officially and privately, there are pleasant and unpleasant people. Not to bore you too much with this, but I started to reduce the company of unpleasant people to a minimum and only in official settings! They suck my energy unnecessarily!

Guys, let’s be clear on one thing. If it were easy, then every day would be a good one for me, but this uncertainty and the obligations/problems are bothering me and making it difficult to achieve my goal. But unlike you, I try, try again! Maybe it’s time for you to try to do something so you can have a nice day, even though it may not always be the case ☺

Have a nice day,
